Keith Dunnavant
is President of Solovox Publishing Company. He was formerly
executive editor of Atlanta Magazine, one of the nation's
oldest and most honored regional titles. In this capacity,
Dunnavant was responsible for overseeing the day-to-day
editorial operations of the monthly, including staff management,
feature development and strategic planning.
Over the course of his more than two decades in the media
business, the 37-year-old Dunnavant has excelled as a writer,
editor, author and publishing entrepreneur. Prior to joining
Atlanta Magazine, he was based in New York as editor of
Adweek Magazines' Special Report and managing editor of
Mediaweek, the news magazine of the media business.
Dunnavant began his career as a 14-year-old
sportswriter---becoming the youngest reporter ever to cover
Southeastern Conference football, before he was old enough to
drive. The native of Athens, Alabama later worked his way
through the University of Alabama and covered sports for The
National and the Los Angeles Times, becoming one of
America's top football writers.
In the early '90s, he founded the football magazine called
Dunnavant's Paydirt Illustrated with one of the most
innovative business plans ever seen in the magazine
business---and built it into a profitable, respected brand.
Dunnavant also is the author of three books, including Coach,
the critically acclaimed, best-selling biography of football
legend Paul "Bear" Bryant.
His work has been honored with numerous major journalism awards,
including six national feature writing awards from the Football
Writers Association of America and five Green Eyeshade awards
from the Society of Professional Journalists.
